Full details are on the following page: How to Sign Up for Field Trips

  • Firstly, we need each participant to sign a waiver in person to participate in a field trip. Secondly, we need to ensure that participants are physically present as we need to directly communicate important information about each trip.

It may feel like an old-fashioned way of doing things, but it allows us to greet and communicate with each participant in a meaningful way.

  • Yes, participants must arrange their own transportation to the field trip meeting point. Festival coordinators do not facilitate carpooling arrangements.

    • Please note that many trips involve driving on dirt roads. Road condition details are available in each trip description on our website. High clearance or all-wheel drive vehicles may be necessary for some trips.

    • Ensure your vehicle has a full tank of gas before departing.

    • For half-day and full-day trips, bring your own lunches and snacks.

    • Field trip leaders will gather their groups prior to departure in the parking lot of the John Wesley Powell River History Museum.
